By Gerry Duggan and David Baldeon

Issue 15 of Nova continues Sam Alexander’s journey through space with Beta Ray Bill on the hunt for the pirate Skaarn. After getting separated in the last issue, Nova is on his own inside the head of a Celestial called Knowhere.

Gerry Duggan has been great since taking over the series at writing in small quips and funny moments that help keep the tone lighthearted and fun. This is an action packed issue but certain moments, like Nova and one of his combatants getting hit into the brain of the Celestial and sharing a moment of disgust together, help to keep a smile on my face during the entire issue.

David Baldeon draws another good issue. His fighting scenes have been fun to look at the past few issues and I’m glad we got to see more of what he could do outside of the space scenes and back on Earth. My only complaint is that the sellswords Skaarn hired looked a bit too ’90s.

Nova puts a smile on my face issue after issue. While this issue didn’t blow me out of the water, it did deliver on a fun space adventure through the eyes of a character who truly loves being a hero and helping the galaxy.
