New Titles Announced For Publication Include Junji Ito’s FRANKENSTEIN, The JUNI TAISEN Manga, And A Pair Of Sci-Fi Novels Based On The Video Game NIER: AUTOMATA

San Francisco, CA, April 9, 2018 – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), a premier company in the fields of publishing, animation distribution, and global entertainment licensing, announced its latest publishing acquisitions this past weekend at Chicago’s premier pop culture and comics convention, C2E2.

During its official panel discussion held at C2E2, VIZ Media announced the upcoming fall release of FRANKENSTEIN: JUNJI ITO STORY COLLECTION, a retelling of Mary Shelley’s classic monster tale, reimagined by Japan’s master of horror manga. The manga adaptation of the popular Juni Taisen battle royale anime, JUNI TAISEN: ZODIAC WAR, will be available to fans this fall. Also announced were two sci-fi novels based on the bestselling NieR: Automata video game. NIER: AUTOMATA: LONG STORY SHORT (Vol. 1) andNIER: AUTOMATA: SHORT STORY LONG (Vol. 2), created by NieR: Automata’s director Yoko Taro and writer Jun Eishima.

Siddharth Gupta is an illustrator, animator, and writer based in Minnesota. They graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Animation from the School of Visual Arts, and have worked on projects for the University of Minnesota and the Shreya R. Dixit Foundation. An avid animation and comics fan since childhood, they've turned their passion towards being both a creator and a critic. They credit their love for both mediums to Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball, which has also defined their artistic and comedic sensibilities.
