Guardians of the Galaxy #7 by Donny Cates, Cory Smith, David Curiel

Jeremy: we’re on to the second arc of the new Guardians of the Galaxy series, and things are heating up. This is the arc that says beloved character Rocket will die. We don’t know how, why or when, but that is what is being promised. I’ll say this for Donny Cates, he knows how to deliver a good story. This first story arc was entertaining, and this next arc looks like it will be gut wrenching.

House of X#1 by Jonathan Hickman, Pepe Larazz, Marte Gracia and Clayton Cowles

Milo: Jonathan Hickman kickstarts an epic X-Men series that looks set to bring mutantkind out of the shadows into the world at large under the leadership of Charles Xavier, and billed as another ambitious project in the likes of Giant-Sized X-Men, Age of Apocalypse and New X-Men, this book is an instant eye-catcher. With pencils from Pepe Larraz and colours by Marte Garcia House of X should cement its status as a must-read book.

Ed Note: Look for a full review from Jeremy later this week!

Wonder Woman #75 by G. Willow Wilson, Xermanico, Jesus Merino, Vicente Cifuentes, Romulo Fajardo Jr. and Pat Brosseau

Josh: Since G. Willow Wilson took over on Wonder Woman with Xermanico as the series’ primary artist, this has been one I look forward to every month. Wilson manages a light tone that’s true to the character and always has a timely message. Xermanico’s interiors, meanwhile, are distinctive and have become definitive in how I think of Diana. Wonder Woman #75 is an oversize issue – and the second in its arc – which Wilson promises will affect the character in “profound and amazing ways” as she battles to reclaim Themyscira. Needless to say, if you’re a Wondy fan, you should be reading.
