By Rick Remender & Nic Klein

Rick Remender’s run on Captain America never fails to please. While I felt that the Dimension Z storyline that began Remender’s run ran a couple issues too long, ever since then it has been nothing but great, pulpy fun.

Dr. Mindbubble is one crazy ass dude. The fact that he is a product of the Super Soldier Serum mixed with LSD is, alone, more than enough for him to rule in my book, but on top of that he is smart and really seems to have his foot on S.H.I.E.L.D.’s neck at the moment.

Aside from Mindbubble, Remender has an excellent moment where Cap begins to really question S.H.I.E.L.D.’s motives. It feels things may be coming to a head between the organization and the superhero as this storyline progresses.

Nic Klein’s art makes me oh so happy. His action scenes look so great in issue #18 as Falcon and Cap take on some bikers and a tank in the Sahara desert. Everything moves from panel to panel great and every hit feels explosive. Klein’s work on this book has upped the already solid quality tenfold.

The Iron Nail storyline has a pretty epic feel to it; one that could shake Cap’s perspective on a great many things. If there is one person who knows how to strip a character down and build him back up it’s Remender, and I can’t wait to see what he has planned next for Cap.
