“What, the boxing glove arrow was broken?”

“Hardy, har, Dig.”

In The New 52: Futures End #30, Brother Eye pulls out all the stops against a hopeful strike by Green Arrow and his allies. Also, Lois Lane meets Lois Lane, which is as about as exciting as it sounds.

This week, writer Brian Azzarello, along with writers Jeff Lemire, Dan Jurgens, and Keith Giffen, spend their time with this issue focusing on the events taking place on Cadmus island. There are a couple teams at work here, one of which has Slade Wilson on it (for those that know what happened between him and Green Arrow in this series there is a really cool scene). Green Arrow is accompanied by a few allies as well as the Outsiders as he faces off against the onslaught being brought on by Brother Eye – but will it all be enough?

On the art side of this issue is artist Tom Raney with colors again done by Hi-Fi. Throughout this issue are quite a few great scenes depicting action and mayhem – a lot of which feature the Omacs. Their arrival onto the scene is expressed in a two panel page with the Omacs emerging from the forests behind Emiko and Dig with lush colors by Hi-Fi, each Omac emitting bright gold or red – that’s in the top panel. In the bottom panel we get the opposite perspective (really cool way for Raney to depict the Omac’s entrance) as we see the mohawked robots emerging along with some of the heroes Brother Eye has taken control off. The facial expressions of Green Arrows team are almost bewildered in the first panel, but soon take focus to start the fight in the second – creating for a great scene to kick off the big fight.

This week we’re given another solid storyline as opposed to the jumping from one story to the next approach we’ve been getting in the past. Brother Eye doesn’t like to be bothered, but Green Arrow doesn’t really seem to care.
