Who are our favorite artists of the year? Read on to find out!
Amy’s Favorite Artist: Clayton Crain
Crain’s kinetic artwork has a unique vibrancy that is key in lending the proper tone to Rai.
Honorable Mentions: Clayton Henry; Mico Suayan; Lewis LaRosa; Cary Nord
Martin’s Favorite Artist: Lewis LaRosa
There are a few artists that consistently make the top of my list, and either Robert Gill or Clayton Crain would have easily battled it out for the top spot this year if it weren’t for LaRosa’s beautiful work in Bloodshot #25. His pencils in that book were easily some of the most detailed and powerful of any book this year.
Honorable Mentions: Robert Gill; Clayton Crain
Paul’s Favorite Artist: Clayton Crain
Honorable Mentions: Mico Suayan; Robert Gill
Scott’s Favorite Artist: Clayton Crain
Generally, I tend to prefer the cartoony styles of Clayton Henry or Pere Perez, but Crain’s artwork is so visceral that you cannot help but being drawn into. Getting him on an exclusive contract was easily Valiant’s biggest coup to date.
Honorable Mentions: Clayton Henry; Robert Gill
