By Claudio Sanchez, Chondra Echert, Daniel Bayliss & Adam Metcalfe

Over the halfway mark in Translucid and it seems like the pieces are starting to fall together, even if so many questions are left unanswered.  The lines between what’s real and what’s not are blurred more than ever—not to mention even crazier—and as much as you might think you’ve got this yarn figured out, there’s this feeling of some major twist coming and it’s going to knock you on your ass.

Oh yeah, TRANSLUCID is messed up.

Claudio Sanchez and Chondra Echert continue to pack emotion and depth into the story and characters.  In a short time, they’ve really focused on making the reader care about Cornelius and the rest of the cast, which because they’re sneaky you-know-whats, really makes the coming issues nerve racking.  You just know that something bad is going to happen since it’s just too rare that somebody makes you like a character and leaves them alone to live happily ever after.  Looking at you, George.

As always, the art impresses on many levels.  Whether it is Daniel Bayliss sticking a small Knight logo on the corner of an envelope that most people might overlook or an insane, stress induced saw-blade monster.  Add to that the ever present, and ever stellar colors of Adam Metcalfe and, no joke, you’ve got some of the best art on the shelves right now.  Really and truly, it’s hard to imagine this getting any better, but these two are most certainly up to the challenge with two issues to go.

BOOM Studios knows how to put out a series and pick great creators.  We’ve learned this time and time again and Translucid is no exception.  If you’re behind on the series and can’t find the first three issues, check out Comixology.  Failing that, start harassing your shops now to pre-order the trade now.  Even if it’s not solicited yet, just go stand in front of them, or call/email, and harass them until they say they’re going to pre-order it for you.
