On this episode of Manga Mavericks, in order to combat the early coming of winter in the mid west, Colton & Lum decide to sit down and talk about Akira Toriyama’s Sand Land! A mini-series about a world ravaged by war and disaster and the humans and demons who try and take back their water supply from a corrupt monarchy. Colton discusses the series as someone who has only read it for the first time, while Lum discusses his experience revisiting the series via its original run in Viz Media’s Shonen Jump Magazine all the way back from 2003!
We also discuss our usual helping of manga news including the newest BookScan lists, Hajime Isayama’s original Attack on Titan prototype, and the top 10 Dragon Ball moments as voted by Japanese fans!
