For the entirety of 2018, we have been celebrating the 50th anniversary of Shonen Jump by covering various Jump manga throughout the year, but now it is time. It is time to reveal what we have been planning whilst celebrating the magazine’s milestone, an even BIGGER celebration of our beloved anthology! So big that we had to scale back the amount of work we were putting into it, going from a planned multi-part podcast celebration interviewing 10+ individuals from all walks of life, to a collection of whatever interviews were already recorded to release in order to commemorate the English Shonen Jump’s transition from digital magazine to full blown subscription service!!

On this very special episode of Manga Mavericks, Colton & Lum gather a handful of past guests to sit down and talk to them about their experiences with Weekly Shonen Jump, including: Maxy Barnard, Sam Leach, Doctor, and Jeff Ruberg! We cover Shonen Jump from many different angles, from our favorite titles to our reading experiences, and many more memories we’ve shared with the magazine throughout our lives. Included is also an interview with Jeff Ruberg recorded before the launch of the new Shonen Jump subscription service from Viz, featuring info on the various features on both the website and mobile apps and speculation of where the future of Jump can possibly go from here! Enjoy the episode just in time for the holidays! We’ll be back on January 4th, 2019 for our first episode of the new year!

About The Author Colton

Colton is just your regular glasses wearing nerd residing in Saint Louis, Misery (that's a joke) who loves reading and collecting manga as a hobby and also records too many podcasts! He started off his podcasting escapades in 2013 when he created Life Lessons: The Gintama Manga Cast, which was a show dedicated to Gintama and its past English release of the manga. From there he became the co-host of shows such as the Manga Corner from Anime3000, Heavenly Kings, One Podcast Prevails and many more. Colton first discovered manga back in 2006 when he bought his first issue of Shonen Jump, and ever since then, his love and passion for manga took off from there! His favorite titles include Sket Dance, Eyeshield 21, My Hero Academia and much, much more. Colton can be found frequenting sites such as Anilist and Twitter under the handle of sniperking323.
