The Happy Horror Days story arc has been great! This time the team takes on SinterKlaas and prepares for the next big happening…

What’s so impressive about these stories is that even though they may seem like stand-alone tales, there has been a bigger threat looming. In this issue, the pieces are finally revealed and #12 looks to be a doozy! Despite having Krampus on the cover, he was only shown in one panel. A bit disappointing, but doesn’t kill the book. There are some great Easter eggs that make up for it. When depicting the Ghostbusters’ research, entities seen in Extreme Ghostbusters are shown in the texts. They even show one of my personal favorites, Kahlil—a real treat! Perhaps the best part of this comic is the back-up story. Burnham finally introduces another character from Extreme Ghostbusters into the mythology! The story is also the prelude to the next big event in the storyline, which looks to be awesome.

There’s not much more praise I can keep giving Dan Schoening. He still is on top of his game and his interpretation of SinterKlaas was masterfully creepy. Let’s hope they keep him on for many more issues!

There is so much fan service and plot in this book that there is something for everyone. This creative team knows what they are doing and this series is in very capable hands!

I was exposed to comics early on, one of my earliest vivid memories was picking up the entire run of Dark Horse’s Aliens vs. Predator(1990). Odd and perhaps morbid choice for a kid, I know...At the same time, I was immersed in the pop culture of the time which included, but not limited to: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ghostbusters, Jurassic Park, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, and of course, Batman: The Animated Series. Writing comic book reviews is another outlet to convey my respect and fanaticism for the this graphic medium. I hope what I have to say will resonate with others and also spark heart-felt discussion.
