According to The Hollywood Reporter, Andrew Adamson, director of the first two Shrek movies and the first two adaptations of Narnia, has been attached to an adaptation of the Dark Horse Comics mini-series Breath of Bones: A Tale of the Golem. Released in a fantastic hardcover collection earlier this year this three part series created by writers Steve Niles, Matt Santoro and artist Dave Wachter, who was nominated for a Russ Manning award for his work on this series, about a giant monster who comes to life to help protect a small village from a Nazi invasion.

“It’s the one monster rooted in religion and mysticism, so I wanted to be respectful. I decided to tell it as a World War II fable. It’s a story of a grandfather teaching his grandson how to make a monster to defend his village against a Nazi invasion.” Steve Niles told THR.

It looks like Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg from Dark Horse, along with Andrew Adamson and Aron Warner, are set to produce the adaptation. No further plans have been released, but this is definitely something to keep an eye on. If you haven’t already read this fantastic little mini-series, you can check out more on the book from Dark Horse’s official website.
