This chapter is frustrating in the grand scheme of the series. It should have felt more meaningful rather than something ultimately designed to pad a page count.
Chapter 12 of Platinum End is the most compelling to date. It finally feels like Platinum End is developing into its own thing rather than a haphazardly cobbled together manga of different titles.
Cuticle Detective Inaba, as silly as the series often is, is mustering a lot of effort for what is presumably the series final arc. It is a shame the series did not develop darker plots until what is presumed to be near the end.
Ultimately this chapter was a satisfying read. The cast was given some much needed development; character development and tension are areas the series truly excels at.
This was by far a better chapter than the one immediately prior. There was lots of character development the characters themselves being very sympathetic people. I feel much more confident in recommending this series now that there is a much better idea of where it is going moving forward. A must read for fans of Ohba and Obata.
