As we wrap up our best of 2014 series, we take a look at each of our favorite writers of the year.
Amy’s Favorite Writer: Joshua Dysart
All of these writers excel in their craft though they have their own personal styles. I gave the edge to Dysart because he has always delivered thoughtful story lines in Harbinger.
Honorable Mentions: Matt Kindt; Robert Venditti; Jen Van Meter
Martin’s Favorite Writer: Joshua Dysart
While there is no doubt of the high level of work that Valiant regulars like Robert Venditti and Matt Kindt are doing, there is no doubt in my mind that 2014 was a tremendous year for Joshua Dysart. His characters are some of the most well-developed and multidimensional of any book in the industry, and I cannot wait to see what Dysart does in 2015 with Imperium.
Honorable Mentions: Robert Venditti; Matt Kindt; Jen Van Meter
Paul’s Favorite Writer: Matt Kindt
Honorable Mentions: Robert Venditti; Josh Dysart
Scott’s Favorite Writer: Joshua Dysart
While I have a feeling that 2015 is destined to be the “Year of Matt Kindt,” for now Joshua Dysart is on top for his continual excellence on Harbinger and as half of the writing team for the reinvigorated Bloodshot and the H.A.R.D. Corps.
Honorable Mentions: Matt Kindt; Robert Venditti

Definitely Robert Venditti. He set the tone for the new Valiant universe. He also set the bar high with his writing in X-O Manowar. Notice that the numbering hasn’t restarted in X-O. It keeps going strong.
I love Rob and I gitty like a little school girl every time I read an issue of X-O but Dysart has done such a terrific job hiding the Harbinger franchise I had to make him my number one pick…I think everyone else agreed 🙂
