“Anyway, it’s been a bit, Bats. How’s Mrs. Batman? And your daughter, Sally Batman–?”
“I don’t have time for you.”
“So mean! I’m all like ‘Say hi to your grandma for me’ and you’re all like ‘I hate knees!!”
Tim Seeley is scripting this week, hence the awesome lines seen above…in case anyone was wondering.
Batman faces his demons in this week’s issue of Batman Eternal, and Tim Seeley scripts along with consulting writers Ray Fawkes and Kyle Higgins. The cover depicts one of Batman’s biggest enemies, and it is this enemy that will force him to face his past, present, and future-self! Also Penny-Two calls Hush a bloody mummy bastard, which is pretty important.
On artwork duty this week are artists Alessandro Vitti, Christian Duce, Ronan Cliquet, with colors by Romulo Fajardo and Matt Mila – they’re all assigned to certain pages. A fantastic page comes from Batman’s first encounter of Ra’s trick against him – page 10, so let’s see…that’s Vitti, and colors by Fajardo. The page features Batman in a blue/greenish hue looking upon another version of Batman in an orange/redish/on fire hue. The detailing by Vitti is impressive, and the color work on the page will ensure you set this as your new phone background, at least until next week’s issue (currently my new background). The amount of Batman’s iterations that come into play during this scene from page to page is quite fun, and only adds to Batman’s maddening rage.
This week brings Batman to his knees! He also breaks a knee! But while Batman was out looking for clues…what was happening in Gotham? Christmas time is coming!
