All-Comic’s You Should Be Reading is the weekly list of comics we can’t wait to get our hands on. Each of our writers picks their most-anticipated comic for the upcoming week and sums up why it needs to be on your radar. Get your comic shop on the phone – here’s what you should be reading on October 9, 2019. This week we’re checking out The Batman’s Grave #1 and Powers of X #6.
The Batman’s Grave #1 by Warren Ellis, Bryan Hitch, Kevin Nowlan, Alex Sinclair, Richard Starkings
Josh: The World’s Greatest Detective is back and, finally out here detecting things again. It’s not only a long-awaited return to mystery solving for Batman though – it’s also a collaboration of the great Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch. While Ellis has a long-established handle on grit and noir, Hitch has recently been penciling Hawkman, which is looking gorgeous. Batman’s Grave #1 is just about a guaranteed homerun, even among the crowded space of Dark Knight stories.
Powers of X #6 by Jonathan Hickman, R.B. Silva, Marte Gracia, David Curiel, Clayton Cowles
Jeremy: This is where it all ends. Jonathan Hickman’s fantastic relaunch comes to a conclusion with Powers of X #6 and what comes next will be big. The future and the past may collide, the future may die altogether, or a new era will begin. We don’t know what will happen next, but we do know that it will be exciting.
