Does My Hero Academia’s latest theatrical feature rise to the occasion, or is this film MINUS ultra? Find out as Colton joins us to discuss Heroes Rising! We talk about our annoying theatrical experiences, our mixed feelings on the *spoiler* in the final fight, and try to figure out whether Nine actually had nine quirks or not. Plus, a special mid-credits review on the totally consequential one-shot tie-in to the movie that explores Nine’s backstory and totally makes him a more interesting character!

Manga Mavericks @ Movies will release a new episode every Friday for at least through the month of April. This is our tentative schedule (Patrons will have access to these episodes at least a few days before the below dates):

4/17: Patreon Peek: Dragon Ball Super: Broly
4/24:@ Movies 43: The Wonderland

Those are all the episodes we’ve got recorded and ready to go for the time being. We’ll probably record an episode on Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll since that’s fresh on Netflix, but beyond that we’re unsure what we’ll be doing for future episodes since we don’t know when theaters will reopen. Our tentative plan is to go through some films from our personal collection. We’ve collected a few films over the years that we never actually got around to watching, so now’s a perfect time to finally get through that backlog!

Vote for the FOUR films you’d like us to cover in May in this poll!
