On this episode of Manga Mavericks, Lum & Colton are joined by dakazu, darfox and Morgana from the Manga Machinations podcast to talk about Paru Itagaki’s Beastars! Even only after reading the first two volumes released by Viz Media, we have a lot to dig into as we discuss different interesting facets of the world of Beastars, as well as its many various kinds of social commentary that we may or may not be able to relate to different real world experiences. We also give our first impressions of the anime based on the trailers (this was recorded before the anime made its premiere on Japanese TV) and wonder how well Itagaki’s may or may not work in the transition from comic to animation. Enjoy!
The third and final volume of our JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Phantom Blood readthrough will be available exclusively on our Patreon this Sunday, Nov 30th!
