Welcome to a special preview of a podcast series available exclusively on our Patreon entitled, the Manga Mavericks Book Club! A spin off series where we select different manga series previously covered on the main Manga Mavericks podcast and discuss them even further from volume to volume! Previously, we covered the entirety of the first arc of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure with Grant (@grantthethief) from the Blade Licking Thieves podcast, but for now we’ll be taking a break from JoJo in order to read through all 28 volumes of Masami Kurumada’s Saint Seiya! A mythical, action battle series that Lum has already covered on the show previously that Colton unfortunately had to miss out on, but will now be going through all of it with his other compatriot in podcasting, Doctor, from the SSAA Network! For both Colton and Doctor, its their first time really digging into Saint Seiya and its many melodramatic, but thrilling, adrenaline pumping battles, as they discuss many of the series’ different facets, such as its use of now classic battle manga tropes, as well as some criticisms of Viz Media’s release.
