San Francisco, CA, November 18, 2019 – VIZ Media announced exciting new publishing acquisitions scheduled for release throughout the Summer of 2020 during its official panel held this past weekend at Anime NYC.
From the Eisner award-winning horror master Junji Ito, VENUS IN THE BLIND SPOT is a “best of” hardcover collection of creepy tales featuring special interior color pages and illustrations. A new Splatoon manga series was also announced for fans of all ages: SPLATOON: SQUID KIDS COMEDY SHOW is a series of gag comics filled with Inkling antics from the hit Nintendo video game.
Additional information on each of these titles will be announced in the near future.

New Inklings take center stage as they and their friends embark on hilarious escapades in the world of Splatoon, the hit video game series from Nintendo!

It’s exciting that all these series will become available to purchase in digital volumes in the near future!
In other VIZ Media news…
DEMON SLAYER Manga Speed Up – Viz Media also announced at their Shonen Jump panel that Demon Slayer will have expedited volume releases beginning in May 2020, upon which new volumes will be released monthly. This is similar to other manga speed-ups Viz has done with popular titles in the past to catch up to the latest Japanese volume releases, most notably with One Piece, Naruto, Haikyu!, and My Hero Academia. Demon Slayer volume 9 was released by Viz earlier this month, with volumes 10 and 11 slated for January and March respectively. The speed-up starting in May will likely begin with volume 12. Demon Slayer is currently 17 volumes in Japan, and an ongoing series. However, it has been speculated that the series may be in its final arc and heading towards its conclusion. If so, we may see volume releases end in both Japan and the U.S. within 2020.
Finally, Pluto TV has just launched a dedicated NARUTO anime channel (CH 677).
