All-Comic’s You Should Be Reading is the weekly list of comics we can’t wait to get our hands on. Each of our writers picks their most-anticipated comic for the upcoming week and sums up why it needs to be on your radar. Get your comic shop on the phone – here’s what you should be reading on September 4, 2019. This week, we’re looking at Powers of X #4, and Wonder Twins #7.
Powers of X #4 by Jonathan Hickman, R.B. Silva, Adriano Di Benedetto, Marte Gracia, Clayton Cowles
Jeremy: After the stunning conclusion of House of X #4 we are left wondering where the story goes next. Jonathan Hickman’s stories are masterful, but they don’t always have happy endings. He’s essentially made it known that no one is safe and all bets are off at this point. The pencils from R.B. Silva have been amazing too. This is X-men storytelling at its finest.
Wonder Twins #7 by Mark Russell, Stephen Byrne, Dave Sharpe
Josh: If you haven’t been reading Wonder Twins, what are you doing? This comic is hilarious. It is a delight. Scripts from Mark Russell and art from Stephen Byrne together make this book a constant highlight in my day every week it comes out. Not only are Jayna and Zan a couple of good goofballs, they’re also injected with Russell’s staple satire. No continuity knowledge required. If you like fun, you’ll love the Wonder Twins.
