Buffy the Vampire Slayer #5 by Jordie Bellaire, David Lopez, Raul Angulo
Jeremy: After the shocking events of issue 4, the Scoobies are changed forever. Jordie Bellaire has been doing good work of reinventing the series and keeping it close enough for fans to enjoy. You can’t say enough about Dan Mora’s flawless pencils too. This Buffy re-imagining has been great so far.
DCeased #2 by Tom Taylor, Trevor Hairsine, Stefano Gaudiano, Rain Beredo, Saida Temofonte
Josh: If you missed the first issue of this mini, you missed the setup to a wildly creative story. Tom Taylor’s imagination is running absolutely rampant. His riff on the anti-life equation, somehow, makes zombies cool again by dragging them into the modern age with a DC twist. Trevor Hairsine plays a big role there, too. Big script moments are dramatically over the top thanks to creative layouts and a realist leaning style. DCeased has been killer – and every DC fan should be reading.
